SBDC client activity is HOT!

Summertime typically tends to slow down for the Spokane Small Business Development Center, however 2015 is shaping up to be as hot as the weather!  We have seen a steady increase in activity with both new and existing clients.
But it's a dry heat...
Could this be a sign that the economy is picking up or have business owners that weathered the recession finally been able to breathe a sigh of relief and move forward?  Maybe a little of both?

These exciting projects are a sampling of what we are currently working on:

  • Aerospace-related company in Eastern Washington - $5 million expansion to build new facility.
  • Craft Micro-Brewery expansion to grow from 1 Barrel to 7 Barrel system.

  • New restaurant - owner has put significant capital into this project.  Restaurant will be a destination type location.  Client will be seeking $1,450,000 loan.

  • Multiple buyers and sellers seeking valuation information, franchise review and financial analysis in a variety of industries - coffee shop, retail boutique, rural service company.

  • New health care training school received almost $60,000 loan with working capital line of credit.
  • Recreation destination company successfully obtained funding.
  • E-commerce delivery of specialty gourmet items.
  • International expansion of light aircraft component manufacturer.
  • Working on inbound/outbound trade missions to Korea.

As you can see, we have a variety of significant projects that are in the pipeline.  Whether it is a $20,000 project or $2 million, these businesses are creating jobs, pumping capital investment into our local and state economies and many have global potential.  Now THAT'S HOT!
